Sofia Gillani connects recording to performing live & shares details on new single 'WYN (Without you)'

 

On May 24th, Sofia Gillani released her latest single 'WYN'. The singer-songwriter continues to show us just how multi-faceted she is. With every release I am amazed at the creativity put into not only the lyric but the production. Layered with the vocals which will make you feel every emotion even if you do not know what the song is about. That is one of the most beautiful things about music although.

'WYN' is another hit. Sofia's music is always such enjoyable ride. I feel super proud watching her grow as an artist. So, I got the chance to ask Sofia Gillani some questions about "Without You" and more.

1) Can you tell us about your new single " WYN"

Yes! 'WYN' particularly focuses onto a phase into my life where I had to cut out toxicity and enforce positive energy in order to really progress and heal as a person. It's quite a cute song for me as it is a version of me that can be playful in the musicality and melodies of the song with an uplifting message. WYN is quite profound, yet still fun for me, just as music always has been and will continue to be.

2) How do you connect creating a song in the studio to performing it live?

It is such a long, beautiful process. It's still so interesting for me to be able to transfer random words on my notes app to fully fledged songs with completed melodies and adlibs. When I perform live, I can really explore the emotions of my songs, and I've been known to explore more in the notes of them!

3) I saw that you are performing multiple shows this summer , how is that going?

Oh it is so much fun! Performing live is such a pleasure, it is my favorite part of being a singer! Summer is my season, being a summer baby and all, and the hmv tour that is going on, the much anticipated main stage haslemere frindge festival performance on the 5th July, and other gigs keep me busy! But always busy in a good way.
